It is difficult to believe that March is almost here. Where did the first two months of the year go? If you are a collegiate educator, can you believe that there are only two months left in the semester? 2) Jeff Porcaro plays Rosanna: One of my all time favorite drummers playing the classic groove to Rosanna. Even if you are not a drumset player, you will appreciate this amazing video. Last year this was #1 and it remains in the top 5 again this year.
5) Episode 026: Composing using the Rudiments: Rounding out the top 5, this post continues to be popular. In the coming year, I hope to create more videos about composing.
Inner Eye is inspired by a statue of Shiva at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. The “third eye” or “inner eye” of the statue is believed to see beyond sight, and is the portal into the central energy point of a being. This idea of inward reflection, and dizziness felt when observing the multiple faces of the statue, led the the circular motifs and chaotic moments of this piece.
PASIC is over and it was great to see some many friends and colleagues! Congrats to the PAS staff and board for a successful event. I am looking forward to next year.
