Growing up in Los Angeles, I had the opportunity to see Mitchell Peters perform with the Los Angeles Philharmonic numerous times. As a young percussionist, my first four mallet marimba solos were Waves and then Yellow After the Rain. I only wish there were resources and videos like the one James Beauton posted today. Bravo James! I look forward to future videos.
“Yellow After the Rain by Mitchell Peters is one of the first four-mallet marimba solos for many students. This video offers some insight to the first couple of phrases, to you help you take your unique interpretation to the next level.” (From the YouTube description.)
